I enlarged the hole close to the edge of the box and glued some rubber edging on   I left the front edge open because ultimately that's where the hinge will be attached.

Unfortunately, I'm still working on the covers.  I haven't found any gray vinyl yet.

Temporarily, I made a couple of "plugs" to fill the holes.  They're just minicell foam that is sanded to shape.  Pretty comfortable to the elbow, but they don't stay in that well.

When the new arm rests are done, I'll post pictures.

So far I've spent about 10 hours on the project.
