A Couple of ZX3 Projects |
|
| Being a packrat, I tend to accumulate lots of junk inside my ZX3.
Unlike my old Honda Wagon, the Focus doesn't have a lot of places to
hide/store things. Not much space between the seats or under the dashboard.
The bulge under the armrest looked mighty tempting. After I removed the door panel, I found a lot of potential. The steel inner door was almost flat. The door panel's volume was filled by a large rigid foam piece - probably to support the door and keep the car quieter. But driving the car without the door panels wasn't excessively noisy, so I decided on some minor door surgery. |

| My intention was to build a box on the inside of the door panel and cut a hole in the top. There would be a hinged and upholstered cover for the hole in the armrest. I was uncomfortable with the height of the armrest already, and felt that making it higher would be a good thing anyway. |
